Message these specs are from hitachi, but most are similar.

Environmental characteristics
Operating
Ambient temperature 5° to 55° C
Shock (half sine wave) 300 G / 2ms, 160G / 1ms

Non-operating
Ambient temperature -40° to 65° C
Shock (half sine wave) 1000 G / 1 ms


and there is no reason why you cant run off a regular flash stick anyway, but if you want an SSD then something like [ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208288 ] would work fine
